There are many different gasses that are used in commercial and industrial premises and on site.
Each gas containing cylinder is colour coded as shown in the table below.
Gasses such as hydrogen is unsuprisingly dangerous due to its high flammability. Inert gasses such as argon can also be dangerous however.
This is because they can cause asphyxiation (being deprived of oxygen) which can cause unconsciousness or death if it is allowed to build up in an enclosed area. This is because argon is heavier than air therefore excluding air from lower areas.
